Oak Foundation’s Controversial Causes and Funding. Part One

Oak Foundation is a global outfit, founded by a British man, Alan Parker, who made his fortune via DFS group, a company based in Hong Kong, DFS group retailed luxury items, at Duty Free shops around the world. According to Influence Watch Parker was an accountant who put his skills to the task of legal tax minimisation.

Parker then sold his shares, moved to Switzerland and set up his foundation. According to their Annual report the amount of donations to their favoured causes was $159 million in 2013 and by 2023 had reached $474 million. Influence Watch describe their preferred causes as “left wing” ; a description embraced by modern social justice warriors. Among the causes they support are tackling homelessness, environmentalism, human rights, women’s issues (more on this later) and tackling child sexual abuse. In common with a lot of other “philanthropic” bodies (Arcus Foundation and Open Society Foundation, to name but two) Oak Foundation is heavily invested in the spread of transgender ideology which is what brought them to my attention.

In the 2018 annual report the foundation notes that it has attracted criticism for their western led approach to human rights and failure to tackle issues such as economic inequality which has resulted in a declining faith in democracy. They sum up the criticism in this quote and then spectacularly miss the point with their defence. This is why I raise a question mark in relation to the labelling of these foundations as “left wing”. They are rightly criticised for the focus on individualist solutions, as opposed to collectivist, it is clear they operate within a global capitalist framework.

To ascertain which causes have attracted Oak funds I scoured all the availabe Annual Reports, back to 2018. In this year a search revealed a search for the word Lesbian yielded zero results. A search for gay yielded just one result which included gay men alongside transgender and bisexual in a charity called “Women’s Refugee Commission”. There are just five references to LGBT and only one grant awarded under this heading. This turned out to be relation to the criminalisation of same sex relations.

Tracing the foundations up to 2023 we see that those 5 references to LGBT increase significantly as do the monies doled out to these causes. These are the LGBT causes funded in 2023.

Note that, despite the name, Astrea Lesbian Foundation is a hijacked organisation that began life advocating for Lesbians. I have done a series on them because they are also funded by Arcus Foundation, another big player in the spread of Gender Identity Ideology. Link below:

Astraea Lesbian Foundation

This is the one highlighted as a project based in the UK. There are quite a few organisations tackling housing problems specifically for LGBTQI + communities.

The 2022 grants also fund this charity 👇 which is a retirement project for LGBTQ people in London.

The CEO and Head of Operations, at Tonic Housing, previously held posts in the housing sector with a specific focus on LGBTQI+ groups.. Ben Green (He/Him)has history with Stonewall Housing and LGBT Foundation.

Anna Kear, CEO is a She/They with links to the London Mayor who also provided funding. (Despite objections to the forced teaming of the LGB with the T, the endeavour sounds as if it could be fantastic for Londoners, if the L&G are allowed to express their same SEX attraction and not forced to view themselves via the prism of gender identity ideology).

Here is the full list of organisations, labelled LGBTQ, who recieved funding from Oak Foundation.

Here is how the akt grant was described.

This will be a three part series because Oak Fdn does not restrict its donations to the LGBTQI+. They also fund numerous other charities who may find themselves silenced expressing any opposition to the spread of transgender ideology, They may in fact feel coerced into adherence to gender identity ideology or may be enthusiastic proponents. I will focus on these charities for part two. Part three will look at who is being funded for the campaign to end child sexual abuse and what, precisely, they are arguing for…. In part this is motivated by a man, in reciept of Oak funding, one who is undertaking joint work with James Cantor. Cantor is on record saying paedophilia is a sexual orientation 👇 and should be added to the LGBTQ etc. l will look at who is being funded and how prevalent is this stance. I am not prejudging what I will find it maybe that there is nothing to see here but I will be looking.
