Joanna Stuart-Rowland has been arrested following the death of his husband Andrew Rowland. Both are biological males, a.k.a men. I had not encountered Stuart before but he appears to have been somewhat of a fixture on the Brighton scene.
Media Coverage.
Naturally this is reported as a woman’s (alleged) crime by some outlets, notably the BBC, who manage not to mention any detail to give readers any hint that the accused is a man.

Other outlets reported it as an (alleged) crime by a “trans woman” and with the added detail of the Samurai Sword.

Transexual “Lesbians”
On further digging it appears that Andrew used to go by the name “Angela” or “Angie” and their wedding was covered by a few outlets. This is how it was covered in the Irish Independent, in 2006. The two men were described as “Lesbians”.

Turns out they used to run something called Brighton Belles, now deleted, but retrieved from an archive page.

Here is how “Angie” described Jo. “Mistress of the purse Strings” and a Devout christian. To nobodies surprise both are heavily into computers.

Here is how Jo describes “Angie”: “Faithful companion”. I think the language used, by both, conveys the impression that “Jo” was the dominant partner at this time in the relationship. I wonder how “Angie” reacted to “Andy” shifted the dynamic between them?

Companies.
As is frequently the case, it turns out that Stuart-Rowland has a background as a company director and involved in LGBT groups among other ventures.

Here is a full list of all the companies he was involved in 👇. I was surprised to see his time at one of them overlapped with Linda Bellos: Lesbian and founder of Black History Month. Ovingdean is a charity supporting education for the deaf. Stuart is deaf.

PCS Union, Learning Skills Council, Police, etc.
Stuart was also a “Transgender” representative for the Public Health and Commercial Services Union, involved in the local church and, more worryingly, with the local police. The Clare Project, he mentions below 👇 is a, Sussex based, support group for “trans” & non-binary people.
He also reports being part of this civil service group 👇

He has a YouTube account with only one video about the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner.

Here he appears to be educating the police on community engagement 👇

You can watch the footage of Stuart being interviewed by Sophie Cook, for the above event. here: 👇
The police were also present at this event, together with Local Labour councillor, Lloyd Russell-Moyles who would go onto become an M.P. (At the time of writing he is not being allowed to stand,in the forthcoming election, due to unspecified, and unproven, allegations; dating back eight years).

The above event was organised by Sophie Cook, another trans activist who is a champion for the Crown Prosecution Services. Politicians Jeremy Corbyn and Caroline Lucas sent congratulatory messages.

Both Start and Rowland were consulted on this domestic violence project.

Social Media Presence
I could not locate a twitter presence and he does not appear to have graced prominent YouTube/Podcasts about trans figures. I was sent some facebook exchanges about his love of Dungeons and Dragons. As always I had many tips for this piece, far too many to name, you know who you are. If anyone spots anything I have missed I will add it. Finally let us not forget a man appears to have died a horrific death, which will create quite the dilemma for the compilers of trans murders and trans crimes, May he Rest in Peace.

Trustee of a Charity.
After I published someone informed me he is also involved in a charity. I had a quick check and he is a trustee of this Outreach Brighton and Hove. Their reporting is over due by 1218 days, i.e. nearly 3 and a half years! The charity focus is about personal safety and domestic abuse. Now it seems they have an alleged perpetrator as a trustee. (Incidentally Clive Mockford appears as a trustee of this charity and is also listed a co-director, with Stuart, in one of the above companies.)
